This policy brief presents first findings from Cedefop’s second European skills and jobs survey (ESJS2). The ESJS2 surveyed representative samples of EU+ adult workers on job-skill requirements, digitalisation at work, skill mismatches and workplace learning. It provides up-to-date evidence on how digitalisation accelerated in EU labour markets during the coronavirus pandemic. This brief identifies worker groups affected by task automation and digital skill gaps in need of targeted upskilling or reskilling, and makes the case for a humancentred and empowering approach to adopting digital technology.
