This executive summary provides a comprehensive overview of the main findings of the Eurydice report on 'Digital Education at School in Europe'. It firstly clarifies why digital education is important, what we mean by it, and how it fits into the European policy context. Secondly, it summarises the main findings of the report, presenting the main policies and regulations emanating from top-level education authorities across Europe in relation to the four areas under investigation: the development of digital competence through school curricula, teacher-specific digital competences, the assessment of students’ digital competences and the use of technology in assessment and testing, and finally, the strategic approaches to digital education across Europe with specific reference to policies supporting schools.
